Frequently Asked Questions
How long do hair extensions last?
The lifespan of hair extensions will depend on how well you take care of them, what products you use on them, and how often you wear them. With proper care and regular wear, KN Hair extensions last anywhere from 12-18 months or even longer.
What is virgin remy human hair?
What is human hair?
100% human hair is really human hair, there are no mix of animal or chemical hair and it has not been mixed with any kind of synthetic fibers or heat resistant fibers. Human hair contains virgin hair, Remy hair and Non-Remy hair.
What is remy hair?
Remy hair is considered to be the high quality of human hair, In Remy Hair extensions, the cuticles are aligned in the same direction and so the hair does not tangle easily. All of the hair in weave must come from one donor.
The hair root is the hair root, braids cut down, head and tail are not reverse, no confusion. This allows for almost no tangling and ensures that the cuticles flow in the same direction from root to tip. This is the best wig making materials. Hair is so elastic.
Remy Hair refers to the hair surface with scales, and the scales are basically in one direction to smooth hair.
Cuticles are a flaky porous layer on the hair. On Remy Hair, the cuticles are all aligned in the same direction. This essentially means that the hair is collected form a single donor.
What is Non-Remy hair?
Non-Remy hair also is 100% human hair, but in this case, the hair is usually collected from hair brushes and hair that has fallen on the floor, and as a result the cuticles are all misaligned. It is in greater supply and is therefore much cheaper than Remy Hair. The majority of human hair sold today is non-Remy hair. Because of the method of collection, the cuticle for each hair strand tends to be in all different directions. In order to compensate for this, the hair will go through a process sometimes referred to as an "acid bath", to completely remove the entire cuticle. This can be equivalent to about ten relaxers in a row.
At first glance the non-Remy hair will appear silky and shiny. After a few shampoos the silicone layer will start to wash off. The hair will slowly become duller, brittle and will tangle and matte very easily. Without proper maintenance, it can give a shabby look.
Instead, the advantage of remy hair is that they don't tangle easily and hence look much better. For Non-Remy hair, it is collected in piles cheaply and then sorted to create extensions. The direction of cuticles are mixed up. This makes the hair tangle easily and is difficult to maintain.
What is virgin hair?
Virgin hair & Remy hair is collected in a method in which all hair strands stay aligned in the natural direction as it grew (i.e. holding the hair in a ponytail and cutting), top at top, and ends at ends, to maintain the natural texture pattern and cuticle direction. This eliminates tangling problems commonly found in non-Remy or low quality hair.
Virgin Hair (unprocessed Remy) is the Best and Highest quality hair on the market. Virgin Hair is hair that has not been chemically altered. This hair is sold in their original colors it tends to vary somewhat with each bundle. So you can have fun coloring it your favorite shade. This hair is very expensive and in short supply.
Virgin hair and Remy hair are all cuticle intact donator's hair, the difference is virgin hair is chemical free hair, while the remy hair can be dyed donator's hair. Some of the donator dyed the hair before they donate. Virgin hair can dyed to any color, while remy hair can be dyed to some limited color. So although all Virgin hair is Remy hair, not all Remy hair is Virgin hair.
So basically, if "100% Human Hair" is the Benz of the industry, then "Remy Hair" is the Phantom, And "Virgin Remy" is the Bugatti!

The human hair is rare resources, lesser and lesser young lady willing to sales their hair as the economic develops. Take 16’’ for example, it takes 2~ 3 years for hair grow up that long not even mention other longer length 24’’/26’’/28’’, that’s why 100% cuticle intact donator hair is not cheap.
Using floor hair or blend with floor hair will lower production cost significantly. Keep Nice Hair (KNhair) believes only quality can make us go far, that’s why we insist on quality for 5 years and continue to get return customer.
How many bundles do I need for a full sew in?
Well, the answer varies based on the hairstyle, cut, length and the size and shape of your head. I usually get three bundles for my primary sew-in, that’s typically the magic number for your average sew in.
Normally each bundle of hair we carry equals 100 grams (3.5oz). with three bundles anywhere from 12″ – 20″ your weave will be full, flowy, and glamorous. If your sew-in is starting with lengths over 22″ you might want to consider four bundles.
Length and Texture
Rule of thumb: the longer the length of your bundles, the more hair your generally going to need. All virgin hair naturally thins out towards the tips, so we suggest more bundles for a fuller look from root to tip. This chart below will help you decide how many bundles you need based on length:
How Many Bundles Do I Need With ( A Closure Or Frontal)?
The closure and frontal era have come through for us ladies, most customers will order bundles match with a closure or a lace frontal.
When they want to protect their hair and edges that they would usually leave out in sewing in hair extensions. If you decide to go with a lace frontal or closure piece to create a completely natural look, it will take up some space and add volume to your hair.
How Many Bundles Needed With a Closure to make a wig?
We need to understand what a closure is. There are similarities between frontals and closures. The difference is in the coverage and size. Closures are 4 inches by 4 inches. They can sit directly in the middle of your head’s crown and they can also be altered moderately to the side of the head to maintai.
If you’re going for a shorter style you typically only need about two bundles with a closure. So the general rule of thumb if you have bundles anywhere form 8 inch to 14 inch, you only need two bundles, if you are going to get anything longer than 14inch up to 20 or 22inch,you need 3 bundles.
Then you need to be careful when you chose up 20inch, because some people may think it could be fine if we choose 3 bundles of 22inch, but it will not perform as the same as 18 20 and 22inch bundles, because the total hair of 3 bundles of 22inch hair will be thin than 3 bundles of 18 20 and 22inch,obviously your hair is going to be scanty the longer it gets.
So anywhere from 8 inches to 14inch you need two bundles, anywhere from 16 to 20 or 22inch, you need three bundles and anything pasted that you need four bundles(this is all with a closure). When it comes to the long hair, if you want your longest hair is 26inch, I will advice you to choose 22 24 26 weave bundles and 18inch a closure, so that it will be fuller.
How Many Bundles Needed With a 13x4 Lace frontal?
Frontals are from ear to ear 13 inches by 4 inches lace frontal will covers more spaces than closure or leave out, so the hair amount you need will be vary.
If you are getting a 8 inches -18 inches or 16 inches, 2 bundle deals with lace frontal will suffice. Hair length past 16 or 18 inches, I would suggest you getting 3 bundles, so from a 16inch, 18inch to about 22inch, 24inch, 3 bundles will be suffice.
For example, if you are having a frontal and your longest bundles is 24inches, you can get a 16 inch frontal and 18" 20" 22" bundles and that should be good for a frontal sew in.
How many bundles do you need with a 360 lace frontal?
360 lace frontal is a lace headband with hair on it. It recreates the natural and seamless full sew-in and can allow you more hairstyles. For it is empty on the top, you must use it with human hair weave bundles. How many bundles do you need with 360 lace frontal? It depends on these factors- the size of your head, the hair length, the texture and your desired hair volume.
Size Of Your Head
If your head is bigger or smaller you'll need to adjust the number of bundles you purchase to accommodate that. In the USA, the average size of a woman's head is 22.5 inch. Grab your measuring tape and wrap it around your head 360 degree to figure out your head size. If it’s above the average you may need more virgin human hair bundles. If it’s less, you may need less.
He needed just a few more bundles.
Rule of thumb: the longer the length of your bundles, the more hair your generally going to need. All virgin hair naturally thins out towards the tips, so we suggest more bundles for a fuller look from root to tip.
On average if you need a full head done, you must have at least two bundles. Anything longer than 22 Inches requires one more bundle. Anything from above 26 Inches will require about 4 to 5 bundles.
Are you the queen of sleek or do you live for waves and curls? Straight hair and curly hair are on the opposite sides of the density spectrum which must be taken into account when deciding how many bundles of weave you'll need.
Wavy or tight curly hair may make your hair look fuller, so you will need fewer bundles for these hair textures. Wearing curly hair, we recommend 2 or 3 bundles for a natural full look, while for straight hair, you might need more bundles to create a super full look, about 3 to 4 bundles.
Your Desired Hair Volume
Not unique but important factor is how full you wish your hair. If you want much volume, you can buy more bundles without any leaving out. If you only need part sew in, you can buy fewer bundles.
If you are still confusion, you can ask your hairdresser for suggestions, or you can contact us. This are basically the rules when choosing the bundles and I know it’s a little bit confusing.
But you will always get the most realistic look using a lace front or closure. which gives the illusions of hair growing from the scalp. Lace front or closures can be attached by bonding, sewing, or clips. This is a choice that should be made by the purchaser, stylists, and/or both.
All in all, whether you should you use a closure or not depends on what look you are trying to achieve. Is a closure necessary for a full sewn in weave? No, but typically a closure is used with a full sewn if you are not leaving any hair out. this will give you the most naturally looking style. Closures can also be used to create bangs!
Does the hair have a bad smell?
The hair only dealed with the disinfection and nutrition treatment after collected from donors to keep the hair clean and nutritious, normally there will be a smell of shampoo and oil (it is slightly faint scent taste). But after u washed the hair, then smell will be gone.
Will the hair be shedding or tangled?
Will it Shedding? After the factory workers sew the hair pieces into a bundle, there might be some short pieces that are not attached to the weft, so when you first combit or wash it, it will go out. That's not shedding, comb them out and it will be fine. Besides the wefts are double drawn machine weft to prevent the shedding, if you have to cut the weft to adjust the hair volume to install, please make sure to seal the edges of the wefts so it won't shed. And never wash or comb the hair with too much strength, it is virgin hair, it needs more of your love to take care of it, if so it will break off.
KN Hair use only the finest quality of true high-quality virgin remy human hair, which means that we use one donator hair (hair are cut/purchased from donator directly instead of collecting from floor), and the hair has been carefully sorted after collecting from the hair donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length, and the cuticles are aligned in the same direction, with some clean work and high temperature steam process make into 8 different texture. The hair does not tangle easily, our hair proves to be reusable MORE THAN ONE YEAR with proper care.
But that wouldn't mean virgin remy hair never tangle. Your hair extensions can tangle due to dryness, dirt build-up, salt water, chlorine and not comb your hair daily. Make sure to wash & condition your hair at least once a week, twice a week is better. Use hydrating drops or consult your stylist for more help.
Can I color, tone, or bleach my hair extensions?
Our hair is 100% unprocessed virgin human Remy hair, so you straighten it, curl it, or even dye it. It looks nice when it's been flat-ironed.
But if it's virgin remy human hair, why can't I bleach it?
This is a valid question and one we get quite frequently. We're happy to answer it honestly.
It is not a simple thing to dyed hair and get a satisfactory outcome. In fact, It need professional technical skill. We do not recommend bleaching the hair yourself at home. You can go to salon and leave it to professional hairstylist.
Also, keep in mind that the color may not come out as intended because of the existing hair dye. Any bleaching is done at the customer's own discretion and we cannot be held accountable if the results do not come out as intended.
Can I use heat styling tools on my hair extensions?
Just like your own hair, KN Hair extensions can be straightened, blow-dried, styled and curled. In order to preserve and extend the lifespan of your KN Hair extensions, however, we suggest to always use a heat protectant spray prior to styling your set.
Additionally, we recommend to only use a low heat setting of 120C/250F, as anything higher runs the risk of damaging the hair. The reason why we recommend opting for a lower heat setting is because it will prolong the lifespan of your set. While our own hair may be able to handle a high heat setting, our hair is also constantly getting revitalized from the scalp, whereas hair extensions don't get that sort of nutrition.
How do I wash my extensions, and how often should I wash them?
KN Hair extensions are made with 100% remy human hair, which means they can be washed and styled just like your own natural hair. Since KN Hair extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp like natural hair does, however, they do not need to be washed as often, as they will not get oily or greasy like natural hair.
We recommend to only wash your hair every 15-20 wears or only when there is a lot of product build-up to the point where they become unmanageable to style. Watch the video below for full instructions on how to wash to properly wash your hair, or scroll down for step by step instructions.
